Bass sound during transitions and tunes

Could someone enlighten me on what is the "bass sound" that I often hear during raves during transitions and sometimes during the actual track, but that isnt part of the track

Its always the same "poum poum poum poum" kind of sound

For those who were at Bal en Blanc yesterday, I heard that a lot during Marcus's set

Thanks

uh it's Music? It's so popular, you can hear poum poum poum poum all night long!

Markus pumped the bass to the max, that's why.

it could also be the FX on the mixer or a seperate FX keyboard

Or may be going deaf and still feel the vibrations.

Allied Nations
i believe that would be the "kick"

It's part of the song, but I noticed in trance songs there's the actual kick drum which they layer over a bass hit.

It's so trance DJ's can keep count of the beat during breakdowns :p

No no that I was well aware off lol

But, the bass sound im talking about was always the same bpm

And I heard this exact same repetitive sound at sensation when Rank 1 and Armin were playing, if this can help lol

Poum poupoupoum Poum poupoupoum Poum poupoupoum

I even remember asking about it after sensation and getting some sort of reply but I cant find the thread anymore and I cant remember the answer either
