DEF DIGITAL

Introducing “Def Digital”, one of the freshest, most promising electronic acts to come out of Melbourne, Australia.
Jake Scarmozzino and Warwick Browne met in 1999. Sharing their passion for production and music the two began writing and producing together in 2003 and founded the group “Transit”. After some time writing, producing and performing the duo decided to have a break and it wasn’t until the summer of 2007 that would see the two reform to create Def Digital.
Not willing to compromise on quality and intent on presenting their driving, progressive signature sound to the best of their ability, Def Digital deferred all releases until their first official release titled in July 2009 on the BeatGeek records label.
Creating a buzz, their first release “Beautiful Insomnia” shot to number one of the Release Promo charts (www.releasepromo.com) and remained there for two weeks. After a promising pre-release, expectations where high for the duo’s debut EP and Beautiful Insomnia shot to number 7 on the DJ Download progressive charts.
The Beautiful Insomnia EP received critical acclaim with strong support from not only local DJ’s, but also the likes of PQM, Jaytech, DJ Fady Farraye, Eelke Kleijn and DJ Lemon8. The duo has managed to gain both a strong foothold and international exposure within the progressive scene in a relatively short amount of time.
They have also gained a well earned following with tunes that range from driving progressive house and trance to dirty early morning prog whilst embracing lush, sweeping airy pads, dominating melodic leads riffs and vocals to create those awe inspiring heavenly breakdowns and skin tingling build-ups.
Support has also come from the likes of Melbourne radio stations KISS FM and Joy FM with the duo’s tracks being played by PQM and Blinky. Beautiful Insomnia has also featured on the 8-Track mind radio show hosted Harry Lemon in the Netherlands.
Def Digital has also been invited to craft remixes for the likes of PQM, Blinky, DJ Fady Farraye and Hyline.
Def Digital endeavours to create and produce music beyond the mind’s limitations, be creatively free and to present their sound to a live audience in the same fashion.

Rysh Paprota

Rysh Paprota may not be a classically trained musician. He may not even have bionic ears, ones which are attuned to identifying unique spectral disturbances in silent music. However, the biggest thing going for this 20 year-old Australian is his obsession with electronic music. Back in 2005 Rysh began sampling a variety of cheeses from the electronic world, and it wasn't long until he acquired his interest in Trance, which followed soon after in Progressive - both Trance and House.
Whilst still in high-school, Rysh began working on his own music; it proved to be an exciting new distraction that saw other aspects of life fall behind in priority. During this time he also started mixing vinyl, collecting new and old records. The one thing he was on the hunt for was interesting, purposeful music, whether it be Progressive, Trance, Techno, House, Ambient or Synth-Pop.
The influence of not just these records, but the people he's met along the way has seen Rysh take an unorthodox - yet imaginative - approach to producing and DJing. Support for his music has come from labels including, Pure Substance, Carica, Vise-Versa Music, Unikat, Often Gruven and others.
