Yo aweswome. Ive been having a bit of a squiz at your blog there over the last few weeks - really enjoy it for reviews of good new stuff :-)
I can pump out 2hours of new stuff like this everymonth lol - it feels like there is actually a great era of trance that on the whole is going unnoticed |

This was just sublime. Nice. The kind of trance that makes it sound easier than it is to produce it with a refined mix that aims for cleanliness and an elegant simplicity. Really nice track selections and transitioning between them is as close to invisible as you can get.
It doesn't really get going for me until about 20 minutes in, but once to that point, it was analogue goodness. Not that the first twenty was bad, it's just that there is a groove that seems to form after 20 minutes where everything just fits in so well.
Nice job on this. Thanks for being squeaky. ;) |

Thank you so much ! - really glad ya enjoyed :-)
i do tend to agree with the first 20 min - i always find the earlier stage of a mix the hardest as i want to build a subtle groove but hook the listener in with something that sounds pretty accessable to a degree.
Once again glad you enjoyed and thankyou for listening ! |

Thanks, glad you like it.
Totally agree with you, but we are here to change that. I liked the set, particularly the middle part. Nice mixing as well. |

| I'll check it out. Don't know any of the tracks or almost any of the producers, which is a good thing. |

| Can't I was very inspired by this. The intro was fiddly and it felt like it took ages to actually get into a groove. And when it did, it was just a fairly typical prog-psy set with cheesy reverbed vocal samples from Command & Conquer, etc. I'd probably enjoy dancing to this, but it isn't very interesting to listen to. Also, that track at the end just made me want to listen to Dust. |

For what it's worth, I don't think your DJing was poor. Mixing was solid and you did build up the tempo nicely. My main problem was with the tracks - I definitely don't think this kind of prog-psy represents a "great era of trance".
I hope you enjoy Excession. |
