odd odd lineup

shapeshifters

robbie rivera

bobina for back in the ussr night.

now if its just them 3 then thats fine because you can have 10-1, 1-4 and 4-7 sets. but i already imagine an opener and a closer.
avalandhw handle seems to be incapable of ever posting set times, but maybe with a 24 day heads up, they can shine some light...

Markus Schulz is playing at Avalon Labor Day Weekend.

Bobina has been the exception for the past year and half or so. Its for the "Back to the USSR" night or whatever its called. One of the managers is Russian and is good friends with Bobina. Thats probably how he gets booked.

Might be odd but it works for me. Love Robbie and Bobina! Throw in the Tiki boat party in the afternoon and its looking like an amazing weekend!

AHP has booked plenty of trance. Not to mention the Astral Projection and Fatali shows on xmas for the past few years

shapeshifters isn't trance

And neither is robbie rivera really. Trance DJs play his stuff, sure, but he's not really what you would describe as a trance DJ. He's more along house overall, but he can play explosive sets.

An odd lineup? Between shapeshifters and the rest yes, but Robbie --> Bobina can easily work.

And while AHP did have trance, yeah Avaland has been pretty anti-trance other than Bobina.

I imagine we are gonna see more of the mainstream house acts stuff with Giant back there. Whether we'll see more trance I think remains to be seen. Markus is on a non-Avaland night, so even though it's nice to him there it doesn't erally go against the anti-trance AVALAND Saturdays nights have had for awhile (outside of Bobina)

im well aware shapeshifters and robbie are not trance acts. i was referring to bobina being on the lineup. robbie/shapeshifters allows for longer sets from them, throwing in another headliner like bobina means less time for everyone to play.

if no trance at avalon, then no bobina, thus more time for robbie/shapeshifters to play.

also odd that you put three headlining acts together on the same nite. shapeshifters is headlining sd/phx around this gig and bobina is headlining in sf the night before.

You do know that promoters book a few months out, so when Giant took over, they didn't say "Ok, all the stuff Avalon booked and set up for the next few months is gone, we are starting from scratch!". Takea a few months to transition over to when Avalon has a night they didn't book yet, and then Giant can book that night.
