Iboga Records and Tribal Vision Records present a joint double CD project Crosslink 2, following “Bridges between and further” from 2002 made as a co-operation between Iboga Records & the legendary Swedish label Digital Structures.

In the new volume Iboga Records and Tribal Vision Records have gathered some of their core artists to feature on a smashing new compilation, compiled by the two label heads and DJ's, Michael Banel & Slater.

The two labels and their artists have during the years marked themselves among the leading in their field, with far beyond 100 CD releases altogether, showcasing a variation of styles and sub genres within progressive electronic music.

Today the labels have a strong focus on Progressive Trance, House & Techno with crossover appeal, making a growing impact on today’s charts and playlists among the top DJ names as well as on various salescharts. Among the top names on the CD we find Ticon, Vibrasphere, Phony Orphants, Jaia & Silicon Sound / Even11, Behind Blue Eyes & Krusseldorf, Tegma & Rocky, SCS, Duca & DJ Slater, Flowjob, Astronivo, Nyquist, Solid Snake, Emok & Lenny Ibizarre, Fabel as well as Alter Breed.

This compilation has some big names in there. Hopefully the likes of Vibrasphere, Flowjob and Even 11 will deliver musically, can't wait to hear this!

Domesticated
The samples aren't the most helpful, but a lot of the tracks sound tainted by that awful electro-house/tech-house fart/dooka-dooka movement. The Ticon track is a perfect example.

Surprisingly, the Solid Snake track sounds like the best of the lot; that's a name who's been leading the charge towards generic dooka dooka in the past 12 months.

Solid Snake album Unleashed was probably one of the better examples of how to effectively include techy elements in Trance music.

Unfortunately this "Progressive Trance, House & Techno with crossover appeal" just sounds dull and boring. Pity considering the quality Trance music these artists were releasing just a couple of years ago.
