[HOWTO] Relay from a realaudio stream to a shoutcast one

Please take 2 mins to answer my question
Imagine that a webradio is streaming with Real technology, so we have to use realplayer to listens to it.
Imagine that I want to relay that signal into a shoutcast format (using my computer as a stream server)
So the structure should be like:
RealAudio Streaming Server => Myself (converting the RealAudio stream to stream it with shoutcast) => Shoutcast listeners
Please tell me which program I should use to do this. Is it a combinaison of many programs?
N.B: I thought about something... Is it possible to rip the RealAudio stream, saving it (in real time, like any rippers) to a MP3 format file, and on the other hand, stream this same MP3 file (becoming bigger and bigger each second) with my shoutcast server?

Feel free to ask question if you don't understand what I'm trying to do, I really want to know how to do it |

In order to do this, you'll need the following:
-Realplayer (which I assume you already have)
-Nullsoft SHOUTcast Source DSP (plugin for Winamp)
-SHOUTcast DNAS
You can get the last two from www.shoutcast.com. When you have them installed, have winamp's DSP/effect plugin set to the plugin you just got, and run the DNAS program as well. Set everything up the way you want it, be sure to read the help files that come with it. You'll need to set the plugin to broadcast from your soundcard and not from winamp itself. That should be about it. Good luck! |
