alright so i rarely ever collaborate with other people ...but an opportunity has come up to use an studio. now this person only uses reason has his daw, so how hard do you guys think itdb be to transition to reason from a fl expert/ableton noob.
i only plan on using it for a few days...and its his studio..so his choice of daw.
this also has me getting worried my "A game" may not show up ..because of this. |

If your production partner knows what "oh this needs compression here, and here (the parameters may be different but you can both use your ears)" or "this needs a cut at 260" and such, i think you should both be fine.
as for not knowing synths and feeling uncomfortable with them, well i think you can see what a synths personality is like if you have enough experience since they are pretty much the same minus some unique idiosyncracies--they just have a different color or growl to each of them. i think this may be your #1 problem but i think if you have enough experience you'll both overcome it. |

work with loops and wavs as much as a possible. only thing i can recomend. it makes it easy to go back and forth between the daws.
btw if he only uses reason i wonder what his studio are? good soundcard and speakers? |

| best case scenario in my mind is to bring over a laptop, midi controller and headphones. bounce realtime on a usb stick or network. i also inquire what kind of monitors, soundcard, anything else he has. |

Make your loops in your DAW and bounce down your loops and make .rex files so u can used them in Reason with the Dr. Rex Loop player.
Would help if he had propellerhead recycle. |
