Beatport iphone application

Now available for free....was about time!
After using it for a couple hours, it is exactly what I was expecting from a first version of the app: Simple.
Still far from being perfect though. For example, when you do an artist search, releases do not all appear and are not in order, etc...impossible to search by label, no access to your favorites and most importantly, you cannot purchase any tracks, you can only put them in your crate.
Fun to be able to browse through new releases with your iphone though! |

The Ipad app allows you to remix tracks on the fly.
But then you have to buy an Ipad. |

| Nice!!! I'm suprised it got accepted by Apple... they released a mobile version of the site like 2 weeks ago, I thought that'd be it! |

in my opinion if you cant buy music this app is pretty useless. if you think about it, it defeats the purpose of beatport. its a website that sells music. if you want to stream and listen to music you are better off using the youtube app people. surprisingly this app is free. considering everything else, the iphone is a cash cow for apple. making you poay for applications that should be on a phone by default or should be free in the first place.
sorry peeps, Nokia N900 = Ultimate. |

yes because an extensive home budget app and extensive agenda app is part of a phone
out of maybe 20 apps, i've paid for 2-3, and no more than $3.99
your point = fail
have fun using all those nice beta apps that you cant even open!

i dont think any of us are looking at the bigger picture. consumers spend and X amount on a phone. keep in mind that cell phones are not expensive. 500 to 600 for a quality phone where you can download apps etc. or we sign our life away for 3 years dropping 80 to 100 bucks a month. so obviously we spend alot on phones. why make us buy applications? 1.99, 2.99, 3.99. thats not the point. the point is apple has the audacity to turn the iphone into a cash cow.
this is why i give much respect to developers. they have done alot for users for the iphone. and one of the main reason why i bought the N900. developers are revolutionaries trying to help people from getting ripped off by apple. what i mean by this is jailbreaking.
lol 84th ave and robbie are bonafied haters. the N900 is all open source! probably running on the best engines around. LINUX! robbie i know you know whats up with linux since you probably support linux servers at work. theres a reason why almost (not every) server runs on linux.
dont forget the N900 was never to be marketed the same as the iphone. nokia dont even market the device as a cell phone. its an internet tablet. the phone is just a side dish. so very few people are going to enjoy the device. the thing comes with a built in ms dos like program to run and install programs form. too sick!
anyways, all you iphone users enjoy the pocket size cash cow. also dont forget to enjoy paying for apps that allow you to move photos from one folder to the other...
whaaaaat theeee!
   |
