Logic Pro: can't you open the FULL piano roll editor by double-clicking a MIDI part?

Hi,
Cubase allows you to edit your midi parts directly in the main arrangement view, so you can popup a mini key editor under a track.
Does Logic Pro also have this feature and what do you click for that? |

| I don't believe this is possible in Logic 8. If there is a way to do it, I have never found it. |

But is it so that if you double click a midi part, the piano roll editor will open at the bottom of the screen?
But if you want easy access to a FULL WINDOW piano roll editor for that part, do you always have to go to the menu Windows and select piano roll or can you also get that with double clicking on the part or maybe right-click? What's the fastest way to do that? |

| You can double click a part to open it in the Piano roll tab group at the bottom of the screen IF you have the Link Button turned on. If you Option-Click the MIDI part it will open in a new window. |

Is option-click the same as alt-click in windows (don't have a mac yet so sorry for the newbie question)
And what is the "link button" and what if you turn it off or something?
What is the fastest way to open the midi part in a new window? Can you perhaps right-click it if you can have such a mouse on mac or change the settings so double click opens piano roll in new window instead of popup tab at bottom? |

How are you running Logic if you dont have a Mac? Are you running the old PC version?

I already explained this above, use option-click.

I think you an change that behavior, but I am not sure how as I have never tried it. have you considered looking it up in the manual or perhaps contacting Apple Support? They ae fantastic at answering questions such as these. |
