Eh. It's between you and the moderating team, but I did follow the last link to your website (kind of cool, BTW) which has a subsequent link to Beatport. Does that constitute a TOS violation? I wouldn't do the same being that your music on sound-cloud is clearly clipped to 3:45 AND, that however indirectly, it's tied to a sales avenue.
At least you're not a complete ass-clown about promoting singles, featuring feedback from "professionals" about how wonderful a track is and how "they'll support". Not promoting tracks with a three paragraph, third person narrative about how much of a wunderkind your labels' artists are, sort of has me on your side, too - I definitely don't wish you any ill-will.
If you're really interested, however, in displaying something you'd think we'd be interested in, full versions of the songs you're selling are definitely appreciated. Some of the DJ's here, won't buy a song solely based on an excerpt of the track because too many have purchased crap based upon the one golden moment they heard at Beatport.
Finally, I'd submit that many of us are amateur to semi-professional and looking for feedback on our work to become better producers/musicians and/or make it to full-time music production. When labels come in and promote their material, here, they're cluttering up this forum with crap most of us don't want to have to sift through. I'm fine and well with letting you post, unfettered by further dissent, but my advice is that you ought to consider the market as something distinct, here; something that might require a little more attention to detail to make certain you're not perceived as an ugly tourist.
Contribution to other artists, in-so-far as providing feedback from a label perspective, might go a long way to easing your comfort and direct marketing efforts, here. I'm not saying you don't - it's just that I haven't read any posts written by you regarding any artists outside of your label and therefore don't recognize you as a contributing member, yet.
Regarding the music - sounds like something that would show up on the slightly higher end of a Beatport sales chart but, personally, I didn't much care for the repetition sans progression. Mix is nice and balanced and there are the occasional nuances thrown in to make it interesting, but it did leave me feeling a little underwhelmed. |
