After numerous remixes and
compilation appearances for Thoughtless - both under his own name and his
Myers Briggs alias - Thoughtless Music is proud to release our first full
EP from Toronto's Arthur Oskan. Equal parts Detroit, Chicago and Berlin,
“Eggshells” and “Tongue Tied” are prime examples
of late night dance floor sophistication, with a focus on stripped-down,
effective arrangements, warm yet potent bass lines, and restrained yet
infectious synth work. Featuring remixes from Lucas Rodenbush (of E.B.E.
fame) and fellow Torontonians Jamie Kidd and dubstep champion XI,
“Eggshells” puts the spotlight on a selection of up-and-coming
Toronto talent.
Joining forces with the busier-than-ever techno
impresarios at Platform for our second Thought/Form event collaboration,
the night will feature a live performance from Arthur Oskan, DJ sets from
remixers XI and Jamie Kidd (a Platform resident), as well as Thoughtless
label boss Noah Pred.
Over the past few years, Arthur
Oskan’s productions have been released on a variety of labels
including Beretta Music, Restructured, Secret Weapon, Cratesavers, and
Matrix Records. Under his Myers Briggs guise, he's recorded for such
labels as Beretta Grey, Thoughtless, and Sentient Sound - who released his
widely successful track “Forever”. Not surprisingly, several
of the world's top DJs and producers - Funk D'Void, Los Hermanos, Chymera,
James Holden, Nic Fanciulli, Hernan Cattaneo, John Digweed and Fabrice Lig
to name a few - have given top praise for his past and current releases.
“Eggshells” will be available on Beatport April 20, 2010. We
hope you'll join us for a special evening celebrating the release of
Arthur's latest record - and some of the finest techno talent Toronto has
to offer.
