that's what i had a few years ago
i had alot going on in my life and it took me atleast an hour and a half to fall asleep at night
the doctor gave me some meds for it
but after about a year of takeing them my life started to change for the better and i just stoped takeing the meds cause i didnt want to be dependent on a pill for the rest of my life
now except for when something is bothering me now, i generally sleep threw anything...
a few years ago an ex-boyfriend of one of my neighbors blew up her car for revenge and it was like 50 feet away from me and i slept threw the whole thing ha ha ha

so yea kelly if you have alot on your mind, dont let it just build up inside of you its not healthy

haha my life is pretty smooth sailing atm, but I definitely take work home with me. The I hear everyday is always making me think. Yes, my thoughts do race a bit when I go to sleep.I try SOOO hard to stop thinking and it makes it worse LOLOL....lame, right?

good suggestions, thanks guy. I will try anything. After a week I was tired, but after a month I am----> :nervous: :whip:

Start taking Melatonin as a supplement. Might help, it's better than prescriptions.

+1

Worked like a charm for me. I tried benedryl, but it made me too groggy the next day. But, the melatonin is the shiznit!

I had a problem falling asleep every single night, right after my vacation (Miami & ASOT 450). I take melatonin & 5HTP regularly but that wasn't helping. I would sit in bed tossing and turning all night, then you would think that skipping a night of sleep would make you sleep well the next night, but no. I was almost ready to go get something prescribed to me.

All I needed was patience and one good night sleep to really fix the problem. Dedicate an entire day to just sleeping where you don't have to worry if it works or not, and that could fix the problem. Thinking about it & worrying about being tired the next day will keep you awake.

did you just quote en vogue? oh yes you did, i support that message

i've gone on and off with the sleeping thing, never taken medicine for it but seems to get better when i came the conclusion that there are some things you have control over and others you don't. just that acceptance helps and helps relieve stress.

Every night you should wind down by spending a half hour reading a book and maybe drinking tea or something else relaxing before you go to bed.

Avoid staring at any kind of screen (TV, Computer, etc.). When you do that there are chemicals released in your brain that have similar effects to caffeine.

read a book, watch a movie that you've already seen a bunch or take ambien

i've seen all the lord of the rings movies so many times that if I want to go to sleep I just throw one on (extended version of course) and close my eyes and quote lines and next thing I know its morning.

or ambien... there's some movie, forget which the guy's like, I take an ambien and jerk off and see if I fall asleep or bust one. either way I win

I experienced similar issues and tried Melatonin. It helped in the beginning, but then then it seemed after a week the effect would fade out. The best thing you can do is try and get into a routine for your body, if you don't have one already. If not, I suggest seeking medical attention for it.

I would not recommend NyQuil or Advil/Tylenol PM.

:haha: oh dear. My coworkers suggested the same (as my insomnia has clearly been talked about at work, since I want to kill myself there, trying to get through the day). I dont think "busting a nut" always works the same for men and women. I mean how many jokes are there about how men will get off and roll over and go to sleep within minutes? not always the same story with women! LOL
