Great times again last night at Living!
When I first walked into the Living around 11pm there really weren't that many people there yet, which surprised me a bit since it's friggin' open bar 'til 11:30! Maybe people needed time to get ready after the hockey game, who knows... Anyways fortunately when Arnej came on at 12 I looked around and the place was packed and people were definitely ready to party.
As probably everyone else, I was pretty choked when I heard Ashley Wallbridge, basically my favorite DJ at the moment, wouldn't be able to make it for his gig (especially for the randomest reason ever..a volcano in Iceland? Really?!) but I gotta say Arnej definitely saved the show. I didn't know all that much about him before, except for his track "They need us" which I loved. However I really enjoyed his sound last night. From what I remember I think the set could have had a bit more flow to it but don't get me wrong I really enjoyed the 2 hours he spent on the decks.
It was cool that he included Ashley Wallbridge's "Chimera" in his set, and so was the song with live singing ("Free of you" I think it's called). Although, I didn't really understand he chose to play that song twice? I mean, I understand Sally has to travel with him and all, but playing the same song twice in a 2hour set is a bit lame IMO. Especially as a closing track, it was too soft for me, I would have much preferred he finish the set with a banging track.
I got to chat him up after the show for a bit and he seemed like a nice guy. Talked about the creative process behind "They need us" and apparently he actually created that track rather quickly (about 2 days) because it's not that complex of a song. I've always wanted to know more about the steps the DJ's go through when they're in a studio recording their new material so it was awesome to get some insight from one of the best in the business.
Btw, for those who don't know me I'm the guy who was wearing the I HEART Ibiza tshirt last night... Just like every time I wear that shirt, a whole bunch of ppl asked me if I had been to Ibiza... And yes I've been, and yes it's everything you've dreamed of and more! :tongue3
Thanks to Louis and everyone else who made this happen, trance night during club hours ing rock, keep 'em coming!!!

I don't think you read my intonation properly. Of course I've been following the story in the news, but imagine someone told you a month ago this show would be cancelled for that particular reason, you'd find it pretty random.

Good review Philou. I was surprised too that few people took advantage of the open bar. Maybe the people who intended to come didn't know? Or maybe alcool wasn't what they intended on taking...
I would also add that the dance floor was a little too packed for my liking, but I guess it is to be expected in such a small venue.
Finally, two thumbs up to the organizer(s) who turned on a dime to replace Ashley AND granted access to both events for people who bought their tickets in advance. Really classy.

does someone have video of the event that we can see Arnej or Sally's live performance?

I came at 1:00am and the place was packed like the Guv at ASOT 450. Luckily I were on the reduced list from Louis (thanks!) cuz they wouldn't let anyone else in. Had a few thing that needed to be taken are off and missed 1h of Arnej set :whip: . don't really care about the open bar cuz I came for the music anyway.

plus one, she should instead sing siren of the sea, good for me or some cheesy Dash Berlin tracks instead, she has a really nice voice and will have no problem singing any of those tracks anyway. Same song twice = lame.
