wow. I have never been one to truly appreciate a skill of a DJ. As most of you know, I typically focus on the tracks played and how much fun I'm having....and leave it at that.

Tonight was different.

Satoshi is a master. There were times when I just chilled, listened, and anxiously waited for what he was going to do next. I just let the music and his talent take over.......incredible night :disbelief An evening that really made me appreciate music on a different level.....brilliant.

Only saw like 2 people there that I knew, but the crowd was awesome. Really friendly, and everyone was digging the music. Around 4am and on some sketchies came from the woodworks and changed the vibe a bit (a few people getting tossed for extremely erratic behavior). But, all in all the vibe was awesome :) :) really enjoyed my night there.

Whoever opened was awesome as well....really ripped the place!

PS: Satoshi is really cool looking......

The music was really good, hadn't seen Satoshi play since 2006.

I saw said sketchy ppl walk in when smoking outside, so I knew it was time to go :nervous:

Hey guys, I passed through for few hours and left around 3am when my friend dragged me away. I really like the feel of the place since they remodeled it but I thought the visual guys take up a lot of space in that already cramped basement And WTF are those paintings on the walls??? The sound was phenomenal & that always makes up for any downsides & discomforts throughout the night for me. Music wise I felt sketchy about some of the mixing & few track choices but I had a lot fun dancing with my friends from DC. The tempo was excellent most of the time & picking up smoothly. I am just upset I haven't stayed until S&B got on decks. I really hope to see you guys next time I am there but that place is like a traffic cluster f*ck of people going back and forward to bar & bathrooms but thats a whole other rant. :toothless
Anyway, it's really a great treat to have Satoshi hold a residency in NYC & I really don't care what venue he spins at as long he is here spinning in NYC on an appropriate sound system. I wonder who would he bring to guest DJ with him in the future? :disbelief

Thanks for the Party S&B & Silverbull. :toocool:

Wow have not seen a Basic review in a long time! Way to bring it back, miss when there were good non trance reviews on boards! Satoshi is the man, for sure. I am really excited for the next addition of his residency, last night was a good set off. About the sketch, did not notice anything. The crowd is a little older then what trance brings, different style peeps but all bring a good vibe. There were smiles all around and everyone was moving, for me that is a good night. If I wasn't dancing since six pm I would have stayed longer lol. Thanks again, Basic, I know I can count on Sleepy and Boo for a solid Saturday night.

dont worry, you missed it ;) The crowd was one of the best i've seen in a while.....until about 4-4:30 :nervous: a few new peeps came in (clearly from other parties) and were displaying some really erratic behavior.....not the usual sketch:nervous:

Didnt bother me though, it was a little entertaining (ie: claw-hand, the guy who was walking, bent over, at a 90 degree angle in circles for 45 mins+, the guy who just completely collapsed on the floor, then stood up and smiled....yeah, it was interesting after 4am!! lol) :wtf: :stongue: De-bo was busy for a while!! :haha:

Will post full review at some point but for now I will say that he lived up to my expectations, and that he really is the Picasso of deejaying! Totally worth trekking to New York for..

Nice to see you, Cribby :) See you in Detroit?

Thanks for the nice reviews everybody!!

I'm glad you all enjoyed Satoshi. He is truly one of our favorite DJs and the sets he lays down at Sullivan Room are absolutely stunning. He had a great time himself as he wrote on his facebook -- "Last night at Sullivan was above my expectation, played much later than normal nights. Thanks Sleepy & Boo, Serge and everybody came down:)"

Anyhow here are some pics we took. There's a bunch more on my facebook.
