So my 2003 Sentra Se-r apparently is supposed to go from $280 a month to now $430! (Completely clean record 3 years G-driver)

Is there not any sort of cap on how much it can increase?
I am sure some people on here have insurance backgrounds, maybe someone can shed some light on this

The insurance industry in Ontario is nothing short of a racket. The amount of collusion that goes on at the upper levels of these companies, while sanctioned by the provincial government, is disgusting.

holy that's a lot!

I'm paying $175 right now and I'm gonna get my coverages adjusted to pay less. Insurance in this province is nothing short of a joke.

There are very very very few insurance companies that make ANY profit off of Auto Insurance.

I could go on and on about this topic but I've done that enough times already

You can thank Accident Benefits coverages and very lucrative coverages under accident benefits for our high rates...not to mention the incredible amount of fraud that goes on in injury claims. Come september there will be major changes to the auto insurance which should lower costs.

If you have your breakdown from your costs of your last policy and the new policy it will help explain where the increases are. If you can show me those then maybe I can see why there it has increase so much.
Most likely your insurance company has sent in a request for a change in rates and the government has approved it.

wow that's crazy.

I don't drive right now but at one point I was paying over $500 for my insurance... I had an at-fault accident (my car was a write-off) and I was kinda a speed demon when I commuted (tickets...). I had an older-model but high-end car so I deserved the high rate.

check out http://www.insurancehotline.com/ . It helped me.

Turn 25.
