The city also shuttered M2’s sister lounge, Pink New York, formerly known as the Pink Elephant, around the corner at 527 West 27th Street.

this is even better! they probably closed it for overly ridiculous priced bottle service. :haha:

I actually really like M2 (minus their drink prices!)

Heard about this on Saturday, a guy from M2 was partying @ Sully after M2 got shut down, apparently the cops were on a rampage trying to shut down many places.

I think it's pretty ridiculous of the police to think that a club of 3,000 people each week isn't going to have drugs or fights. Statistically, if they only found 16 offenses in 2 years I'd say that's pretty good. Imo this kind of attitude by the city only encourages clubs to cover up illicit activity and hide things from the police instead of maintaining a good relationship with them for help and assistance.

Case in point - back in Seattle The Last Supper Club was told by the police that they were there to help and to call them if they never needed anything. The club did so, calling them in everytime there was a fight or someone needed medical assistance. Everything was great for two years, but them flash forward to when the mayor decided to crack down on nightlife and who did he single out? The Last Supper Club of course because it had more documented offenses than any other in the city...

This kind of thing drives me nuts, the fact that a club can actually get in trouble for calling an ambulance when someone needs it - or the cops when they need them. :(

^^^ This is the same kinda thing I have always thought about on college campuses. If someone is drunk and needs an ambulance they will get in trouble by the University. This prevents people from calling ambulances for people who clearly need them in an attempt to prevent their friends from getting in trouble or even getting themselves in trouble. Responsibility should not be punished
