Nope, not enough juice (power for any DAW + VST + FX + Loops).

Yes, for simple track with few instruments + few FX at most.
I had a laptop (dual core) and trust me you will be frustrated as hell after a while with processor load going over 100% - so is your call.

It's a dual core, it lacks the turbo boost the i5's and i7's have, but I'm sure it still supports hyper threading.
That processor also outspecs the core 2 duos used in the mac books and low end macbook pros too (before the new line came out)
Finally I am using a 5 year old Athlon 64 processor with on board sound, graphics and 512RAM. It can't exactly be worse can it? LOL.
Just wondering if it is worth buying cheap and often, or buying a lot and then using it for another half decade?
I see merits in both arguments tbh. |

Haha, I don't even freeze tracks!
All about basics synths and built in effects. |

Sure :)
Because I need a new pc either way, but a laptop would really help out at work too.
I might in the not too distant future upgrade my desktop too, but right now I cant afford both.
Also I not long use my CDJs or TTs so I wouldn't mind having a laptop to play out on when any of my friends are crazy enough to let me play at their nights. Ha ha. |

If you are not planning to do some serious production with bunch of FX and compressors, eq, and layered sound and bla, bla, bla... you should be OK with this one.
