I'll be going to France for 4 months next September to do my last semester of university at Rouen Business School. About an hour north of Paris.

Anyone else planning on going to France during that time?

I'm trying to find some good clubs to go to with good residents and the occasional top dj.

lol Finland on the list

United States two spots ahead of Canada???

ummmm....even with the sub-prime mortgage crisis, massive corporate bailouts, and lack of universal healthcare.......

now thats whack.

they generally tend to live cheaper and have better weather. Also they are way more efficient and less bound by red tape than we are. So really im not surprised

Yes, indeed. It is not a fair comparison between Andorra and Canada. Andorra is a very tiny country that doesnt have to face many of the issues that Canada does. There are no oil sands or natives in Andorra. One of the other flaws of this poll.

Regardless of what the studies conclude as to what is the "best" place to live it ultimately comes down to what kind of lifestyle you prefer. France pays excruciatingly high taxes but they are rewarded with some of the best social services available to any country on the planet (free tuition, THE best health care, excellent food etc.)

France has been rated #1 for the past 5 years but that does not necessarily mean your lifestyle correlates to the study in making it the "best" country for you to live in.

Personally, after living in Canada my whole life I truly cannot stand winter and this past winter was a much needed break. I like snow but I hate bitter cold temperatures. For other people they love it because they get to enjoy the seasonal festivities that winter has to offer (skiiing, snowboarding, etc). Apart from the climate, the amount of tax I will be paying this year alone (41%), there are no beaches or absolutely breath taking scenery in Ontario. Without sounding too bitter Toronto has become one of the stalest places to live as far as what I want in my life and I simply can't put Canada in the top 10 considering it is the largest metropolitan area in all of Canada. Some may agree with me and there are others who would die to be here... but who knows the weather is so flaky these days that we might become one of those tropical destinations to visit in the coming years.
