Let's see some links to some of ur videos, sites, etc. The kid put himself out there, people like it, and he now has a following. Ok he's not the best mixer. Some of the tracks are bunk. BUT people are liking it so I give him props.

That's one thing I hate about djs. They are always picking other djs apart. Amist a crowd of 1000 people who are dancing their asses off and having a good time, they are standing there miserable, jealous, and hating on the dj.

Haha there was a hint of irony in what I said. He's easy to take the piss out of, so why not eh.

Yeah he's probably getting loads more gigs than me and the stuff he plays is what the kids want these days - which in a lot of ways instantly makes him a better DJ than me or a lot of other people on here before you even start to compare mixing skill or ability to DJ without a mask on.

But what's the point in being a grumpy ageing DJ if you're not going to moan about it?

Agree but also you've to look at the quality of the gigs, it's easy to mix for a crowd of kids which just want the overplayed and ing famous tracks from David Guetta to Laidback Luke and similars.

But do you see him playing in front a crowd of adults and real EDM fans? Also i don't see him 5 years later doing the same, now i remember that one of my friends sent me one of his videos (which somewhat proves how famous he is) but didn't say "Look at this nice electro mix" (mainly i don't like electro and him neither) said:

"Look at this fool" and well, having a mask, jumping and doing average mixing gets people attention but i don't see me wearing that mask, however i reckon that i'm more connected with the crowd when i am a bit drunk and mess around a bit :P

he's just trying to mimic what worked so well for deadmau5 (using a silly mask). and it seems to be working decently for him too.

i really can't stand the type of "clown house" as people mentioned that he plays, but i'm not going to hate on him because of it. i hate top 40, but most people like it. and as a dj you kind of play what the people like.

i've seen FAR worse djs that basically go and buy all this gear and serato and pretty much just cross fade quickly into the next track without it being beatmatched, phrased, or anything. yet the top 40 crowd still love it because they are playing hits back to back. it's really no different than a human ipod shuffle, imo.

so yeah, i really have no idea what i'm trying to get at. but like i said, he's getting gigs and i'm not, so i'll respect him in that sense... even though i think it sounds and he looks stupid as .

Indeed.

But of course the key to happiness as a DJ is finding people you can play to who like what you like... (easier said than done)

i think it's important to play something you're comfortable with, djing is a work too and you can't be good at your work if you don't like it. I wanted to mix trance but that's nearly impossible here , i mainly like trance because of it's melodic characteristic so i play now prog.house which i like , not as much as trance but i like, and i have more gigs open.

If you don't like the music you can't be enthusiastic and you see this guy it's maybe too much enthusiastic and here it is his success

AMEN

With all of the hits that this kid's videos are getting, maybe we can learn from what he is doing. I'm not saying "lets all start playing clown house," but I am curious as to how the kid got such a high viewership. Was it from cultivating a Facebook group? Spamming like crazy? Soul-sales to the devil?
