The Ibiza "season"

Long story short, I might be able to get over there in early May for the first time ever. My question is, when does the "season" really start picking up over there?
Is anything even going on in early May?

| Rumor has it, summertime might never start. There's a volcano, next to the one in Iceland, that hasn't blown since 1918. When it did, summer was all but an afterthought until the next year, for North America. Currently, they're detecting rumblings from the big one. No one can be too certain, however, because that smaller one still has a lot of activity. If it blows, I don't suspect Ibiza or anywhere else will provide much of an enjoyable destination. /piss on OP's parade :D |

all going on out there during May. I wouldn't even contemplate going out till towards the very end of June at the absolute earliest.
Closing parties in September is the best time go in my opinion. You do run the risk of some slightly sub-par weather doing that though. At the end of the day I suppose it all comes down to what's most important for you. ie, music, weather, fanny, etc. |

No.
Opening parties starting beginning of June. Always very busy and next to the closing parties the best time to go.
I'm there from 12th June - 19th.
Amnesia, We love, Swedish House Mafia and Cream. All opening parties. All will be rammed with great atmosphere.
Don't go in the summer... (radio 1 wkend especially...) Overcrowded, expensive and big q's for the clubs etc...
June and Sep are your best times. |

| Went last year at the very end of May/start of June to catch some of the opening parties and it was pretty busy, in fact, Space was ing packed. |
