Deepchord presents Echospace present Liumun

Rod Modell and Steven Hitchell will release Liumun, their second album as DeepChord presents Echospace, this June on Modern Love.
The new record is described as sounding more "destroyed" and "unsettling" than its predecessor, at times simulating the "uniquely ambiguous euphoria/narcosis that comes with extended sleep deprivation." It comes three years after The Coldest Season, the duo's acclaimed album from 2007. Since then, Modell and Hitchell have been involved in a number of side projects, building their own echospace [detroit] imprint and recording under pseudonyms like Intrusion and cv313. For his part, Hitchell has become increasingly interested in field recording, and used sounds harvested from Tokyo as source material for the new record. The first pressing of Liumin will include a bonus disc with 80 minutes of Hitchell's recordings.
