Sub bass note help ..

Hey all ..
been trying to get a good progressive bass sound going .. was looking to know if anyone can help me wit the note pattern of the bass in this track ..

the rolling bass is also used by the likes of cosmic gate .. just lookin the note pattern not the sound ..

This is fairly close. The best I can do right now without sitting in my studio. Its all about the pattern and the envelope modulation, with maybe a little LFO action. They probably have the filter cutoff or envelope amount tied to velocity so they can control when the filter amount hits. A common but useful technique.
b = filter more open, high velocity
B = filter less open, low velocity
K = kick

tried you combination .. dont think the notes you specified are correct .. its more rolling than that .. would note length be a factor ?

I don't think note length is a factor here. Just play around with the positioning. There may be some delay on there and also remember that the pattern is isolation is not going to sound exactly the same, because it is interacting with a lower bass line.
Unfortunately, that's about the best I can do without sitting in front of my DAW. Sorry, man. |
