I agree, a 15" MacBook Pro would be perfect. |

They are pretty woefully under-specced.
I am a hairs width from buying this bad boy.

I struggle to find a system that beats it performance to cost (and yes to looks also important). |

Well there you go, then. Get a Macbook Pro, you won't regret it. ;) |

That's not my number one priority in a laptop.
I just want something with some decent RAM, large HD, good processor and someone decent gpu. This thing looks good and has all of theses to some degree.
I've since found better one refurbed on ebay , but I dunno if I can trust these?
You any experience with refurb laptops? I have none :conf: |

I bet that pencil and paper on the desk could do more than that piece of next to it.
(Comment applies to both pc and cheesy sales man) |

There are two things to consider with refurbs.
1. Do you want a warranty? If so, avoid any refurbs other than Apple refurbs, since the Apple refurbs are the ONLY ones I know that come with the same warranty as a new unit.
2. Can you trust the eBay seller? |

Possibly, but I look at it this way. Everyone I know who owns a Mac, has never gone back. Except for one, and he went back to Windows, an IBM, and regrets it. Selling his IBM to buy a MBP. Everyone I meet swears by their Macs.
Also, before going all Apple, my family owned approx. 10 Vaios. None lasted longer than 2 years. I, along with my father who purchased them, regret buying every single one. Its true Windows 7 is better, but the hardware is still .
So it may be more expensive for an Apple, but like so many other things, you get what you pay for. |

A lot of the PC builders offer 90 day warranties on refurbs/recertified. If it makes it past that, it's usually fine. Newegg sells refurbs all day long without issues. |
