I'm in the process of moving away from FL and go to either Cubase or Studio One, i haven't quite decided yet, but the workflow is similar so it doesnt matter.
Anyway, in trying them out the only thing i really miss is fruitys step sequenser and the ease of programming drums with it.
Obviously one solution is to treat each drum hit as a seperate audio track in the arrange window but its not as fast/easy to try out ideas as i'd like and since i like using a lot of different hits it gets messy really fast.
So i guess what im looking for is drum samplers like groove agent but better. Unless of course im missing something.
So, what do you use? |

I used battery when I used cubase and I still use it today with Logic.
Ableton's drum rack owns all too bad it's not standalone! |

Yeah, I used to use battery, its ok. But I think drum plugins really have to be integrated into your sequencer to work properly. Its too awkward to go through naming tracks by hand and stuff. I'd have a look what cubase offers for drum programming maybe rather than trying to go external.
Thank god I use ableton. |
