I think I'm in love, been waiting forever for a way to browse tracks without looking at my computer. Anyone have any first-hand experience with this?

EDIT: Btw anyone else having problems embedding youtube vids lately?

Probably cause you're not able to in here :)

That is very very cool btw.

i like it. but id rather have ableton on a touchscreen computer. less devices, less problems.

I use Traktor on a touchscreen laptop (just for browsing tracks) and even that's a bit fiddly - everything on Ableton's interface is even smaller so I can imagine that being a bit of a pain.

At the end of the day, touchscreens are great for their flexibility but they're still nowhere near as responsive and usable as physical knobs and buttons. Same applies to mobile phones - I used to be able to text without even looking at my phone, but now it needs my full concentration to make sure I don't hit the wrong button on the touchscreen.

Totally agree that the fewer devices the better though. I wish more people made MIDI controllers with built in soundcards - I've got a 2D which is great, but doesn't necessarily have the perfect controls for what I want to do... but at the moment I'd rather adapt to that than have to take another box with me.

yeah im also looking for a midicontroller/soundcard combo, right now i have a UC33 midicontroller and a Echo Audiofire soundcard together with a macbook using ableton and it works great but i need something better for launching the clips + mutes. and then i would have lots of stuff, too much really.

+1. I have a UC-33 as well and my biggest complaint is the lack of touch pads like on a Trigger Finger or Akai unit.
