Yeah, but how much did you pay for the ticket? Two or three bucks? Really, you only won seven or eight bucks. :p

my mom won $20 before, i suppose that keeps their hopes high of one day winning lots of money & quitting their jobs :p

i wondered who won that! not to judge but i highly doubt he'll be responsible with that money. either he'll blow through it with his girlfriend and their herd of five kids or he'll get hosed by some screwy accountant.

People being jealous!

It does strike me as strange that the people who win big on the lottery are as near to penniless as they could be. You never hear of middle or upper middle class types coming good....If I was in that situation where I had $26 in my bank account I'd be damn sure to not throw it around on the lottery!

Personally I throw a few bucks (usually $3 for some unknown reason) when the Powerball or Mega Millions goes above $150 million.

in the bank I work at a lady won a jackpot. she was a cafeteria lady at some elementary school. after taking the lump sum, she ended up getting about $4 million in her account. she would come in literally EVERY day and withdraw $10,000 cash for the first couple of weeks. plus withdraw numerous cashiers checks payable to family (i'm assuming it's family that barely spoke with her until they heard she won the lotto).

this was like a year and a half ago. I decided not too long ago to check out her account, and now she's dead broke and has the IRS putting levies on her account because she hasn't paid up on her taxes.

Fledz
There's a set of numbers I always play - 4 8 7 10 21 25
This one time for an Easter special draw, I was annoyed at something and just put in some random numbers when Mum practically forced me to fill some numbers out.
There was a heap of winners but each one still got close to $600K, enough to pay of a mortgage. All six of those numbers came out.
Suffice to say I cried that night. FML.
