Did the AF do it for you, bills? Both my parents had theirs taken out the moment they joined for totally free - I guess they like to use it as a training procedure for their medics. :nervous: |

nah this was done when i was 17. i had an IV and then they put the gas on over me too. all 4 teeth were impacted, so they had to do real surgery; not just "tap tap...ok they're out" |

Depending on where you go they'll do both. Like I said, they hit me with nitrous first which caused me to get really light headed and sleepy, but I'm pretty sure the Valium in the IV is what actually knocks you out.
It also took A LONG TIME for the nitrous to affect me...god damn whipits :o |

Jesus christ, they drug you up that much for wisdom teeth? Here they gave me a few shots to my gums, I wasn't put to sleep, I was awake the whole time.

No, I got all 4 wisdom teeth removed in one shot. They put a gel all over my gums, then a bunch of shots to freeze it up, then took em out one by one. One of them was a bitch, so he stuck these pliars in my mouth, and twisted, I felt the torque on my head, and felt the tooth crumble to bits in my mouth. Pretty cool..
No one I know has been put to sleep to remove their wisdom teeth, I guess they do it differently in Canada? It didn't hurt one bit.. my mouth was completely frozen. I didn't even go for my prescription for painkillers either. |

| Coolest surgery I've ever done was LASIK eye surgery. Got to listen to The Allman Brothers while they cut a flap open in both my eyes and shot lasers in them. |

Yeah that's pretty crazy. My dad's a dentist and he'll extract maybe one or two at most at a time under regular nitrous which just makes you giddy. But if you need more than that out, he'll send his patients off to the oral surgeon where you get the gas first and then the IV. |
