Check my DJ Page! Old School Trance DJ in Houston (Conroe)

Moved to Houston in December, 2009. Would be down to spin at a party or club with some great old school underground sounding hard trance...but getting no love, so far....They keep telling me that Houston hates trance. But I hear differently from other sources...so...maybe there might be a lot of "closet" trance lovers in the Houston area. :p

Well, I'm mainly a hard trance and club trance DJ but I also sometimes spin hardstyle and a little techno and house in my trance sets. Got a hardstyle mix on my DJ main page, too. I don't think my style is like Tiesto, Armin, Ferry, or A&B. Not really into that Netherland commercial style of trance...Though, there are a few nice tunes that come out of there. My style is a little darker and harder. So, if you're looking for that "evolved" vocal sounding trance, that a lot of producers are pushing out today, you probably won't like my style...but if you miss the days when underground trance was very popular, you might be in to these mixes...Though, I do love a "good" vocal but lets not get carried away, here.. :p I want the floor moving...Not standing and worshiping.. :p One vocal for every two hours of trance. Anything more is pushing it for me.

Anyway, my main influences are DJs like DJ Dag, kai Tracid, DJ wag, DJ Dean, and Talla 2xlc. If you like, here is a classic hard trance trance mix of mine. Maybe you'll want to give it a listen. I love my trance with the 1996 - 2005 old school underground sound. I look for that sound anytime I buy new tracks. Yes, they are still making trance with the old school underground sound...Few but still. Anyway, if you decide to listen to it and you like that mix, check out my other mixes on my main page. Maybe you'll like them too. If you would like a copy of any mixes, pm me and let me know. :)

Getting gigs in this city is tough. You simply gotta network and...it aint gonna happen on this forum. :) Trust me.

Who is "they"? If this were the case no one would show up to the events that Nightculture throws. Now...I will warn you, unless you are the headliner that everyone came to see, you will have a very difficult time getting the dancefloor into anything over 130bpm. That's the reality of it.

Your style might work better at raves but, I fell out of touch with that scene years ago. Good luck, you sound passionate about your work...That I can respect regardless of what anyone spins.
Lizandrooo
Your bio sounds like something that belongs in the "personals" section of craigslist. Lol "seeking male companion whom enjoys hard trance in the ass"
Lizandrooo
Btw, welcome to txta. I love the old sound but not so much the 140 bpm stuff. Ill check out your stuff soon.

Thanks for the feedback, guys. Especially, Lizandrooo's.. :p I really wasn't expecting anything when I did this post. In fact, I thought it was a long shot but what the hell?? :p Won't hurt to try...And the people who told me that no body likes trance in Houston were on houstonbeats....Afterwards, for no reason whatsoever, I was just kicked out of their forum by some mod...jackass's.. Bunch of hateful people, there, I think. Though, there might be a few cool ones, there....So, I'm not saying everyone on houstonbeats are hateful...

I left Houstonbeats.com in late 2003 and never looked back. I felt like I was dealing with a bunch of high-schoolers and didn't have the time for that . This and facebook is about the only two things I waste my time on the internet with.

Yeah, I won't deal with them much longer...I have another user name and they seem to like that one. :p I haven't talked much but I have been watching them for years... But it seems to me they want to exclude anything that they don't like from "their" edm scene. Which, to me, make no sense whatsoever. How can the edm scene grow that way??

But check this out. Say you're someone who hates trance but wants your party to be big so you can have more money to throw bigger parties. Now, look at trance. What do "most" people think when they hear edm or rave?? Techno and trance, right? And most "newbie" people, who don't know yet, go to parties because they like the hard beats and the melodic tone of trance and techno. Yes, techno has melodic sounds, too. (we can get into that later, if there is someone who disagrees) The point I'm making is this. Trance is a great gateway into the edm scene because a lot of it is catchy! So, why not use it to get more people in the door?? Perhaps they'll come by the house stage and decide they like house, too! That was my point that they refused to see....

lol yes, anyone who is not a trance fan is usually pretty close minded to the thought of people liking trance or having anything to do with it.

we are putting the texas trance scene back together one show at a time :)

Fortunately these tards aren't the ones throwing parties that really matter. So it all works out in the end.

Well, I just wish I could do my part in help spreading trance in Texas even more. Especially in Houston just to piss of a lot of houstonbeats people. :p Wouldn't that be cool? :p Maybe some brain storming could help this happen...But I would also love to help out other areas, too. Would personally drive down to Dallas or Austin for a gig and maybe even just to help out setting up a party. Though, I might be a little old to be playing at small "house" parties, I still would be even down to come over and drop some records at any house party.

I just miss the whole scene. I used to be a player in Germany and Arizona. Well, not so much a "big" player in Germany, because the scene in Germany is so massive and there were techno and trance parties everywhere you looked. Did help throw some nice parties in Germany. Really nice Halloween attic parties (big attics to big buildings-we found and got connections), in frankfurt, from 1994 to 1998. :) At that time, we were the only people in the Frankfurt and Wiesbaden area throwing a attic party, during Halloween, so our parties were kind of big.

I was "kind" of bigger player in Arizona. Did help out at every major event from 2002 to 2006...and perhaps saved a couple of smaller 4 to 5 hundred people size Arizona parties, that ended up being very nice, because I had my sound system and the original sound guys decided to bail on the people throwing the party. :p So, they called me. But I kind of dropped out of the EDM scene after I went to my second tour in Middle East, in 2006...Became kind of an , in Arizona, after I came back from my second tour...And I kind of distanced my self from all my friends and everyone else. Don't know why but I do feel sorry for it....I wish it never happened but it's too late for that. Though, never did stop buying music...I wouldn't mind getting back in the edm scene again...I miss the rush.
