AHh! That explains it. At first I thought Deadmau5 was just trying to rip off Daft Punk. But if the same people designed the set up that makes sense. Pretty cool looking, and does work well considering his whole "thing" is DJing with the mouse head on.

If Joel was out partying at some club, excluding local clubs, I'm sure some people would recognize him but I'm pretty sure everyone would recognize him if he had his mouse head on.

I think you missed the point of what I was getting at. My point being that no one knows what Daft Punk look like behind their "robot suits". Actually even on their Homework tour they dj'ed / performed behind their masks. And yet despite that, they seem to be doing ok I guess :p (tonnes of commercial success, massive tours, scoring disney movies etc) and they have had alot of longevity despite not having an "identity".

I have a buddy that met them when they were here in august 2007 and has a picture with them backstage posted on his facebook. He even blocked out their faces to continue their secret identity.
