Following from deep gems like 2008’s ‘Murder Weapon’ and this year’s ‘Cold Energy’, Dutch duo 16 Bit Lolitas unravel their latest dual masterpiece for Anjunadeep in ‘Singularity’ and ‘4v2’. One part classic deep trance, one part dreamy prog, ‘Singularity’ is a blissful eight-minute journey that rises through waves of euphoric melodies and increasingly epic but never overblown crescendos. A blissful, tinkling breakdown then draws you in, before a driving old school trance riff energises the track and twists through a many beautiful turn as the euphoria levels rise and rise till the close.
Starting off darker and deeper, ‘4v2’ is an even more patient but equally rewarding journey that unravels steadily through its eerie minimal techno beginnings and into its release as powerful, delicately textured electronic full of climbing ‘80s synths and electro bass.
