I found it. The first Trance song ever

So everyone has been trying to figure out what the first trance song ever recorded was. Well, it's not from the 90's, or the 80's, but rather the 70's. Released in 1978 to be exact.

Oakenfold has remixed it and Jam and Spoon have remixed it. It was found in the movie midnight express.

From it's hard pounding bass line to it's filter sweeps and 4 on the floor bass drum (not a drum machine by the way, but a real person playing it) and break down.

It is:

Giorgio Moroder - The Chase

Blue.
Good tune but is the original trance or just the remixes? If the original ain't trance then it don't count.

I'm talking about the original, not the remixes. The original is trance (in a very primitive form though).

wow, thats pretty cool.

I've heard that name before, and I thought it was a house tune! Guess I was wrong :p

there are a lot of that kind of composition or songs from 80s, you may call them trance in primitive form.

new for me too! very nice to know wich was the first track from my favourite music...yeahh...ill dl it later....and again: is this the first trance track for sure ?

Ok, it is true that there are a lot of songs that have trance elements from the early 80's and late 70's. But this song is quite revolutionary for it's time. It could be considered a house song, but it's filtered synths are much more modern then it's age and match trance style better. also present is a repeating drum pattern with snare on every 2 and 4 with the trance standard every other 8th open hi hat.
