You're right. The breakdown really isn't very satisfying. First, ditch the shrill sound on the lead synth that comes in on the break. Keep the effects. Just get rid of that god-awful sound. Make it a sine-wave or something. Just a simple 2 to 3 oscillator sine-wave ever so slightly detuned, played about an octave or two lower than you had that fingernail on the chalk-board sound going at.
Other than that, however, this track has a lot of potential. You may want to build up, just a bit more before the break, but I do hope you'll finish it. |
