the armin-esque grandstanding needs to be reigned in. instead of arm waving, finger wiggling, and ear-to-ear grinning he should focus on mixing his tracks like a serious dj. I suspect it might have had something to do with all of the video cameras that were around.
he broke up at least every other track with a complete slowdown with fuzzy vocals and as a result, he never built any real flow to the set.
rather disappointed, had to retreat to gallery for a while and by 3:30 i threw in the towel.

ok so COMPLETELY last minute decision by Sarah and I to sneak over to guv for SvD...I couldn't pass up hearing him drop a full 5hr set :)
I was pretty nervous on the way up; didn't know what to expect and didn't want to be let down...

I remember him using 2 cd's for the first 5-6 songs, i hate that he just touches knobs.. making him look like he's doing something but nothing is being done.
He was way better last time, lacked flow & the mixing was iffy

My 5th time @ the Guv and I'd say definitely top 3 (2nd to Decadence & Benassi). I thought he really connected with the crowd, and the effects with confetti and the lights were amazing as usual. Guv never ceases to impress, and Sander helped that continue Saturday.

Had a bloody wicked time! I thought Sander pretty much killed it - loved being out and hearing and dancing to trance again - really cant recall when I last had a good trance night..
And hearing a techno track or two later in the night blew me away - was in heaven id say pretty much the whole night.
I just really needed to get out and party after having been locked away in Collingwood for the last 3 months thru tax season. Saturday with Sander van Doorn was the perfect release.
Almost as good as the tunes was watching the idiots that kept drawing the attention of the bouncers. Like the two dudes that were up on stage trying to get to Sander to have his babies... lol
They got yelled at and then pushed [slash] kicked down... And then the 1 guy in pink goes up back AGAIN!!! Bouncer ing went after him like my cat on a squirrel!

Even better though was the guy dancing like mad on the podium at the back by the left-hand side bar where you enter Guv.... bouncers shining lights on him to get down, and then one chucks a water bottle at him and beams him... they guy grabs the water bottle pitches it onto the ground like a kid throwing a fit infront of his parents.
Oh man, that was brilliant (and brought the bouncer over to him as well... didnt see if he was let off or escorted out lol)
Fantastic night for me. We had to leave early bc my friend's knees were killing her, but had a blast.
Did it get better after 430? How long did Sander play till?
p.s. MARS, you missed a hell of a night girl... :(
