Is it always the last weekend in May? I think next year I may skip DEMF. EVENTUALLY I'll be able to go I'm sure. lol |

Im all for it. This kind of stuff is always better with a group. I got wheels if we need em. Room for Alex, my girl and two more if we wanna check some stuff out of the downtown core. |

Agreed on the overrating - however - both manage to have some gems worth checking out... it does take effort though. Enjoy it while you can, maybe one day this event will be banned (or taxed) - lol |

Open Doors, An exhibition inspired by Doors Open Toronto

Gallery 1313, 1313 Queen Street West
Curated by Christopher Hume, Urban Affairs Writer for the Toronto Star, this exhibit explores the influences of local architecture in artistic practice. The exhibit pays homage to Doors Open Toronto and further connects the public to Toronto architecture through art.

Peruse the finalists of the Toronto Society of Architects' annual poster design competition; and stay for drinks and hors d’oeuvres at the after-party attended by planners, architects, developers, and interested residents alike.

The Toronto Society of Architecture launches two free walking tours at Doors Open Toronto. The tours will highlight the architecture of the city’s recent cultural rebirth with Toronto’s Cultural Renaissance: Buildings of the 21st Century and the historic to modern buildings of Toronto’s business epicentre with Skyscrapers of the Financial District. Developed by the TSA and led by trained volunteers, each tour will include in-depth information about design features, building challenges and urban context for some of Toronto’s most iconic buildings.
Free during Doors Open Toronto only!

so this is coming up this weekend and i finally got my list together. day 1 is gonna be all architectural firms and if i have time either the ballet school or commerce court. all depends on the timing.
day 2 is gonna be fun i think. i'm probably most excited about the king eddy and the city hall green roof. and i'll finally get to see the elgin after missing the tours last year.
