What he's saying is that when you build your track based on that structure you'll end up getting the exact same structure everyone else is using. Good enough for beginners but dull to everyone else. |

Ah...
Well, this guide was mean't to be like a rough guideline for (like you already stated) NEWBIES & BEGINNERS who're still struggling to understand the very basics of dance music and how trance song structure USUALLY progresses.
Creativity depends on your imagination and it's totally up to you. I can't write a guide about that. You have to figure it out for yourself and I encourage everyone to do so :) |

Yes - I'm not saying tutorials like these are a bad thing at all when you're starting up. After all, you need to know the "rules" in order to break them. |

my advice for everyone that wants to be big someday it's to don't follow this like a religion.
You need a dj friendly intro: Kick + Snare + Low Bass
Breakdown : Most original you can, innovate to reach it, you don't necesarily have to fade to reach it.
Dj Friendly Outro: Same as intro but inversed. |

Yep, that's pretty much it in a nutshell. The rest is up to artist. |

The thing that gets me is I have to imagine if someone actually needs a guide to understand how a trance song progresses from the typical intro-buildup-breakdown-drop-climax-outro etc formula, there's probably far more important fundamentals of trance that they're missing too.
It's a good guide but in practice I can't see anyone needing this, anyone who's listened to enough trance to want to make some on their own should know this by now.
But, again, no offense. |
