:stongue: Thats why I downsized my collection ... I only got a few hundred left, thats plenty - otherwise my room was starting to turn into a dust collector.

I prefer CDs now, and have kept most of those - so much easier to rip+store+play+move.

And besides, its not the SIZE of the collection that matters, its QUALITY. I knew one dude who had a big media collection because he was a DJ in the 1990s, but a lot of it was cheesy and crap, and he took such bad care of this stuff, I wouldn't buy most of them.

The only place nowadays where big music collection are useful are P2P metworks. Oh yes, very useful. :D

some of those pictures are a few years old.
Chances are the vinyl is gone/less and perhaps they've even moved.

A whole lotta "Billy" book cases and white paint going on.

or as im willing to bet, they still use vinyl for sampling and or "storage" since electronic copies are subject to self destruct at any time. At least thats why i still have vinyl :)
rulzz
some of those pictures are at least 4-5 years old that's why there is still vinyl.
WittyHandle
Looks like Luke Slater use a commercial hit.

shouldn't banks be backing up important data to an archaic format like tape or something then?

I can understand holding onto records for that 'authentic sound' or even for the nostalgic value of having vinyl, but if you're holding onto it because you're afraid your computer's going to explode, save yourself some shelf space and backup your 320bit MP3s to an external drive array that will take up less than 1cu foot and store more tracks than records you could pack into Benassi's loft.
StereoPrincess
none of those look like living rooms, they look like studios. or storage rooms.
