1. I love google chrome
2. google chrome doesn't love me
3. google chrome doesn't work properly, and I cannot seem to find any tech support on my issue.

basically my issue is this, I cannot load any web pages in new tabs or after I open a second application of the program. Opening chrome once and keeping it running with a single tab works, but it still often crashes with "application error, instruction at 0x12345678 referenced memory at 0x87654321 could not be 'read'. which in itself does not terminate the program, but within a minute or two the open webpage will become unresponsive and then chrome will crash.

this started happening 2 days ago. Left my comp on all night to share some music I'd downloaded. Somehow picked up the backdoor.tidserv inf trojan, which exploited the sandboxing feature of chrome to get onto my system and embed itself in my system restore, was a bitch to remove, but I did. Since then, my functionality with chrome has been as I described, even with full reinstallations.

evidently, the means in which I removed my trojan has damaged my registry, and I've *heard* that windows automatic updates check and repair registry entires automatically, but I'm not sure it'll solve my problem.

Anyone else have a problem like this? or know of any forums or tech support websites out there that might be able to help me? Google has been less than helpful.

i am no tecchy but i have heard horrible things about google chrome and the amount of viruses that spread through it. my dads friend had his entire computer wiped out by a virus he got through google chrome so i completely stopped using it, even though i liked it a lot.

This seems like the obvious answer to me, but have you tried reinstalling it yet?

I don't see what the whole deal with chrome is. It seems like a basic browser to me.

lightweight, faster, supposedly more secure, open source.

I can't tell you how much nicer it is to not be bewildered by all the buttons on IE, to not have to deal with hanging terminations of firefox, or be able to build and customize the browser all on your own. It's a very user-friendly and versatile program. Unfortunately, it is subject to some weird crashes and glitches without much support, as I've described.

I love chrome, the bookmark syncing is so incredibly useful.
