XONE4D and Traktor pro question

Hey guys,
I just recently got my Xone4D and been playing around with it for a while. I'm currently using Traktor Pro 1.2.4 on my macbook.
My questions is simple actually ( I hope), I just CANT figure out how control the tempo on Xone4D.
Mind you I havent touched any midi mapping on Xone and I just did the easy setup from Traktor in the begining and it detected Xone4D and everything works fine except for the tempo.
For example I'm trying to beat mach the track on my headphone as I'm cueing and I'm trying to adjust the tempo before I mix it in and not sure what I have to do to achieve this.:p I did some research and it seems like I have to do my own midi mapping to do this? some people use the jog wheel like the CDJ's to play around with the tempo. Is there is a default tempo control on XONE4D without touching/changing the midi map? I hope somebody knows what I'm talking about.:D
Thanks, |

I expect the built-in layouts in Traktor just follow one of the standard MIDI maps provided by Allen & Heath - you can download a pack of them with overlays here: http://www.allen-heath.com/uk/dl.asp?file=562
Open one of the PDF files to see a graphical layout of the mapping.
I'm guessing the one Traktor's given you is 4D_T_Pro_ABCD in that pack. There is a tempo control but it's slightly hidden - you basically need to hold down the 'ALT' button corresponding to the deck you want to control the pitch of, then you can change the tempo using the right hand encoder (just above the jog wheel) on either of the MIDI sections.
So to change the tempo of Deck A, you'd hold the far left-hand ring-lit button at the bottom and turn the encoder just up and to the right of it.
Tbh this is just a guess that they've used this mapping, but it's probably quite a good place to start! |

Hey thanks for your help on this. Just to let you know I did try so many times to do what you said and when I was pressing/holding the tab button on my macbook I didnt notice any deck changing on the screen and theorfore the encoder wouldnt do anything:( . however when I was holding and pressing the far left button and rotating the encoder I noticed that I was able to fastforward and rewind the tracks to where I like to cue.:p.
Also about the layouts that you posted. I went over them but I dont really know how to load them into Traktor.:nervous: I never thought it would be so hard to control the tempo using Xone.:( |

| To load the TSI files in Traktor you have to go to the Controller Manager option and use the Import button on the bottom. Btw by using this method in the last versions you will overwrite all the other mappings that you loaded previously. |
