In the wake of an unseasonably strong low pressure system..Very strong southwesterly winds of 70 gusting to 100 km/h are expected this afternoon near the north shore of Lake Erie with winds slowly becoming more westerly and easing to 50 gusting to 80 km/h by evening. For the remainder of regions extending from Windsor and Sarnia across south Central Ontario into the Golden Horseshoe very strong westerly to northwesterly winds of 60 gusting to 80 km/h will develop by early this afternoon. They will last 3 to 6 hours before easing somewhat to 40 gusting 60 km/h this evening.
Strong westerly winds 60 gusting to 80 km/h will develop for the Picton - Sandbanks Park region by mid to late afternoon and last for 3 to 4 hours before weakening in the evening.
The winds will be strong enough to cause minor damage to property and some trees..Especially those which are in full foliage. Motorists should also be prepared for the very strong and gusty winds which may make driving quite difficult..Especially in high profile vehicles.
