STARKILLERS AKA NICK TERRANOVA

Thursday May 27, 2010
The Docks (Edmonton)

Starkillers is best known for his signature blend of catchy vocals, booming bass lines, and genre-defying range. From New York to Japan, Starkillers has had a massive impact on the world of electronica. The Las Vegas native is recognized as the man behind the MASSIVE hits "Discoteka" & "Scream." "Discoteka" was the very first track released under his Starkillers alias. It lived at the top of the Billboard Dance and Beatport sales charts, named an "Essential Selection" on Pete Tong's BBC1 radio show, nominated for best underground track at the IDMAs, and supported by almost every major DJ. But the track's success simply encouraged the hard working producer to get his ass back into the studio and create a world of music his friends and fans have come to recognize him for.

Starkillers has an impressive list of musical accomplishments; started a record label called Terratraxx in 2002, produced numerous original productions as well as high profile remixes. Working under pseudonyms such as Starkillers, Killers & Rockers, Detroit Millionaires, and his own real name Nick Terranova, he created remixes of Armand Van Helden, iiO, The D.O.N.S, Robbie Rivera, Paul Oakenfold, Dj Dan, Dj Chus, Space Cowboy, Carmen Electra, Paul Van Dyke, Shiny Toy Guns, Dj Rap, Ida Corr, Nadia Ali, and many more.

Capping out the end of the year in 2009 and moving into 2010, Starkillers put up 2 of the top 25 best selling tracks on Beatport for 2009. With a #1 spot for Starkillers vs. Arman Van Helden "The Funk Phenomena", and a # 3 spot with Starkillers "Bitch Ass Trick", both tracks charted on the top 25 at 15 and 25, respectively, and were hailed as instant classics in the dance music scene. Putting forth this kind of effort and throwing down this kind of heat, Starkillers has become one of the most sought after producers in the game.

Its definitely not a common venue for electronic parties, but it will definitely be one of the more intimate settings to see a DJ of this magnitude.

went to the free party STARKILLERS thingy at Flow lounge couple months ago and it was pretty meh. Probably I am more into trance and progressive house so his music didn't "click"
