Ableton Envelope Delay?

As you can see/hear, I've had to adjust the ON/OFF envelope for the EQ so it falls 1/16th after the 1st beat of the 9th bar. If I have it switch right on the 1st beat, it sounds like it switches on slightly before the 1st beat. It's still a little off now, but sounds cool imo, so I'm leavin it.

What is causing this? Audio sample delay? Something else inherent in Ableton?
How would I rectify this so I don't have to adjust the envelope position every time?
Lolo
delay compensation that is turned off into the options?

Cracked Ableton Live?

Wrong ASIO driver?

A pesky and/or cracked plug-in that screws your global PDC?

Be a little bit more specific about what you're using and someone will be able to tell you.

Ableton 8 with Zebra2 for the part in the clip.

I have the built-in EQ3 bandpass EQ set on the Master. Could that be the problem since delay compensation is applied to the master channel, possibly throwing off the timing of the on/off envelope?
My driver error compensation is set at 0ms. I've tried adjusting it, but the EQ timing is still off.

I think ive had problems with this before, not sure what causes it tho :conf:

The EQ3 is so that could be the start of your problem :p

Nice track though, I want to hear the rest :gsmile:

It seems like envelopes on the channels are timed correctly, but anything that is time based on the master is off a bit.
I'd hate to have to bus everything just to add a filter :\

ah! good find, thanks man.

for anyone else with this issue, main point of the ableton thread is:
the offtiming is caused by the delay compensation, which does not FULLY compensate for 3rd party FX placed before ableton's effects.

a semi-fix is to set your "plug-in buffer size" as low as possible. (which i just confirmed DOES work!)
it's something they're looking into, apparently.

thanks again evo8!
