| I'm back on board the flossing train. I don't know why I stopped--it's almost fun. |

Flossing is as important as brushing , 2 things can happen from lack of it . One is interproximal caries ... the other one it attacks your gums and bone , many times especially on the 3rd molars ( wisdom tooth ) if they are somehow impacted they create a food trap which can potentially turn into a periodontitis and a nasty ass infection .
Now think about it for second ... there is no way a tooth brush can get in between your teeth so if you are a person doesn't floss you probaby got junk stuck in there from a chicken you ate in 1992.
This gathers up colonies of bacteria which in turn a migration of inflamatory cells takes place that will cause the gum to swell and then to recede . Gum recesion exposes the root of your tooth which will cause sensitity to cold or hot foods , drinks etc.
Also try not to floss too hard because flossing too hard causes gum recession . |

| Not always (even though I should), but definitely if I've eaten some meat. Brushing doesn't get all of the food out. |

me too.
though flossing more than once a day seems excessive to me. is it really necessary? i don't even floss once a day. it depends on what i've eaten. |

Pretty sure once a day is enough. My dentist also gave me one of these things:

To stimulate my gums, especially around the wisdom teeth. |
