I can't wait till I'm no longer living at this school and eating their food and can actually have GOOD food for dinner again.

Preferably with lots of broccoli!

ed up how? Making the most of every bit of an animal is a good thing, and until you've tried it (and forgotten that it's actually their organ) then you really don't know what you're missing.

The liver is full of iron, you're right. Like lots of meat. Iron helps us play!

The liver, from what I understand though, is a filtering organ, which means it's quite full of a lot of other as well, at the same time as being full of iron :p

perhaps so but when you see how much stuff is in a lot of processed or preserved foods, or things like sweeteners in food, or what's added to sausages to fill them out etc, it's not 'that' bad imo. I just know it as being delicious, esp in the 3-prong attack with the smokiness of bacon and the sweetness of onion. It marries perfectly.

"Not that bad" is still bad :p

And I know what's in processed food, which is why I try to eat as little of it as possible.
Ian

my food equation is usually animal + vegetables = win.

Mine would be full of booze if I had my way...

The predilection for eating offal is just nasty, I guess it depends where you grow up in England really. Some areas do, some don't, I'm glad I grew up where they where it wasn't exactly common, the odd thing is that quite a lot of them won't touch turnip or pumpkin- which is considered animal fodder in some places. I had to migrate before I could eat it :p
Tripe, fry, kidneys, liver, there just isn't a way to cook these damn things without them smelling BAD!

Tonight I made sweet and sour with pork, king prawns, red cabbage, broccoli, snow peas, carrots, capsicum and zucchini. With a bit of extra garlic and chilli for heat.
Its not exactly authentic chinese :D

Cheese Ploughmans, nom nom nom...

Actually, anyone outside of the UK know what this is?

Yeah, I lived in England for 5 years and managed to avoid eating most every part of the mammal digestive tract that seems to be served there.

I do truly miss English milk, though. It just tastes so much better than most, like the cows there are happier.
