I'm not sure that's exactly what I'm trying to describe, but check this:
That 15-second melody at 3:00 is incredible. I don't know why the artist didn't do a second round after the build. Instead I just play those 15 seconds on repeat.
Anyone know similar stuff?

There are loads of producers who do melodic psy.
Check out Astrix, Protoculture, Wizzy Noise, Astral Projection, Yahel and many others. Especially from Israel.
Haha, I agreed with the OP's post since I heard that track last year. Lots of psy can be melodic, the one you posted has a bit of a darker mood though. Rebel9's suggestions can't go wrong, but would you like a progressive/trancey sound or a full-on sound? I have recommendations for both, but since I have so many, narrow down your description plz :p

Do you think the whole thing is darker, or just at 3:00? That particular melody I find to be... emotionally powerful, whatever that means :)
I don't really know which of those two sounds I prefer, although I'm certainly a big fan of prog trance. I'd love to hear samples of both!
And I'll shortly check out all the other suggestions... thanks folks!
[edit: hmm "full on" seems good :) I should also mention that Oblivion by Even 11 is the most brilliant tune I've ever heard]

Thanks, that was nice. To use ziptnf's description, though, I guess I'm looking for something a little more full-on (hardcore?) and less trancey :)

Dark has a lot of meanings. I find URecken - Elements to have a slightly dark mood, even though there are a few melodies that keep it on the light side.

Lots of artists produce progressive psytrance, a lovely hybrid of prog trance and psytrance, but a lot of tracks can be really same-y and boring. However, lots of trancey stuff you might like:
URecken (obviously)
Human Blue
Wizzy Noise
Mad Maxx
Zen Mechanics
Ace Ventura
Zybex
00.db
Ultravoice

God, I always do this... click the picture in my signature, listen to it and see what you like, I'll be able to recommend more that way :p

I hate that in Psy. Something like 30 seconds are ing amazing but before/after its just the rather boring regular buildup/climax.

Contrary to regular uplifting trance which isn't buildup and climax?

My point is, in uplifting the breakdown and the climax are usually the best parts of the track and they are long enough. In full on/uplifting psy you often have some really awesome parts in the buildup but the climax is rather boring in comparison. Examples
