'Mr. Lahey' wants to apologize to a Barrie teen for landing him on the wrong side of the law, Sunday.
John Dunsworth, who plays the deranged trailer park superintendant and ex-cop on the show Trailer Park Boys, was feeling a little sheepish after one of his spur-of-the-moment stunts left a 17-year-old driver with charges.
For a lark, the 64-year-old actor jumped up onto the teen's GMC Jimmy and pretended to car surf, but a nearby Barrie police officer didn't see the humour and charged the driver with stunt driving. That charge was later lowered to careless driving.
"That kid had nothing to do with what I did. I just jumped up on his car, kind of improv and I didn't mean for him to get in trouble," Dunsworth told the Barrie Examiner Monday. "I was just there for an autograph session. We played a gig up the street at Yuk Yuks."
Dunsworth had been schedule for an autograph-signing afternoon at Liquid Chrome, and then a performance with co-star Randy (Patrick Roach) at the Barrie comedy club that night.
Kyle Panezutti, the targeted teen driver, was on his way to the autograph session, hoping to catch a glimpse of the TV show star. But he never expected Dunsworth to clamber up onto his mom's SUV roof.
"I was stopped for a light on Dunlop Street, right out near Liquid Chrome, so it wasn't like I was driving fast," the Barrie teen said. "I was heading down to get in line for an autograph from Mr. Lahey. I had seen them get out of a car, and yelled 'Hi' to them.
"Then all of a sudden, I felt someone jump on top of my car. He just stayed on there."
Stoppert said he's frustrated at being punished for something he didn't do.
"Why is it OK for someone to just jump on my car, get on my roof and why do I get charged because they did it?" he said.
A nearby Barrie police officer saw Panezutti driving with a man on the roof, and charged the teen with stunt driving. That charge was later lowered to careless driving under the Highway Traffic Act. |

Yeah it sucks, don't come unless you want to pick up easy at The Queens or The Bank.
It has a lot to offer outside of nightlife though. :) |

hahaha I couldnt have said it better myself.
Wasaga is fun - although main beach is full of douchebags and hos, it's still my favourite beach within driving distance. |
