| Looks like she does a lot of exercise and yet she is so fat. What gives Lira are all Brazilian babies this fat? and what do you call the dance she is doing? Baby Mambo? I have so much to learn about your culture. I am fascinated and yet repulsed at the same time. |

And, yeah, she's not the cutest baby I've ever seen but I wouldn't say she has some sort of mental problem: as far as her communication skills are concerned, she's doing all right. |

No, I for instance wasn't nearly as fat as this girl. And she just claims to be "a little crazy", but the dance remained unnamed. We need an anthropologist around here :p |

Now that I watched it again, it doesn't seem like they're being cruel or anything, but they're naïvely taping it because they think it's funny. From what I gathered, it's an internal joke: she pretends to be sleeping and her mother asks "Are you sleeping?" and then she wakes up and starts doing that thing. It's akin to throwing a tantrum (she apparently wants to spend more time by the pool and her mother wants her to go inside and take a shower), but instead of yelling her lungs out, she's "playing" so she can spend more time there. She's having heaps of fun, that's why she's even singing in the end.
It's a bit disturbing to watch, but it's not mean when you understand what's going on :) |
