Heya all,
(Sorry for two threads in such a short period of time.)
I am finally using a new computer for writing music, that I put together.
It's specs include an AMD 1055T Phenom II processor (6-core processor, compareable to an i7.) and a Creative Soundblaster X-Fi Xtreme Audio card.
I also have a Technics Mark II Amplifier which I have hooked up to the soundcard via phono, My speakers are Technics SB-3150's, and my headphones are ATH AD-700's by Audio Technika.
I have a slightly limited price range ($500) but if you can suggest audio hardware of which you would consider an essential to creating professional audio (whether it is advanced FX tweaking, or perhaps an appropriate mixer) then I will be grateful to hear advice!
Thanks,
- Brittany |

you just said in your previous post that you aren't enjoying making music. You also mentioned you suck at it. Why are you punishing yourself. Find another hobby. |

Ignore the troll.
@ the op. You oughta get a new soundcard. Creative are shoddy. An echo audio interface will probably be fine for your purposes as long as you don't want to record external audio.
Also, what are you using for control? Midi keyboard? how many faders etc? How do you like to work?
Assuming you're working completely in the box, you should look into getting
Controllers >> audio interface >> better monitors (unless your technics are ok? Don't know them personally) >> control surface |

agreed,
if its not in you, any hardware or cool gadgets you buy, isnt going to bring it out of you.
and this guys previous post have really indicated that. |

Not necessarily. A change in your working environment may be just what you need to feel some inspiration again. For example, switching over to Studio One from Ableton helped me a lot on that front.

Echo Audiofire 4 is awesome, and i dont see any problems using that for recording too! I have it myself.
Buy that and some monitors and headphones and your set. It is firewire though so u need that on your computer. Then buy a little midi-keyboard. |
