Tips & Tricks Sticky

i got this idea from a cycling forum i'm on and i think it would be a huge help for us. The cycling forum has a sticky called "A->B The Best way to commute".

Basically anyone can submit a bike commute from point a to point b. From there the only way that commute can be updated is if there is an "better" alternative (ie shorter, less hills, less road traffic, etc). What it does though is gives a awesome starting point for a tried and true way to get around town. I use it a lot.

What if we had something like that for production.

Basically a written explanation along with pictures of the synth/fx/eq/whatever (on the bike forum you have to type out the directions along w/ submitting a google map). We could have the infamous "pluck" sound, the rolling bass, the reverse reverb effect, etc, etc.

Then anytime another way to do something or a better way to do something comes up it can simply be updated in the post.

Here's one way to do it that gives X result, here's another way to do it to give Y result.

I can't manage the post but it would drastically help if something like this existed. Thoughts?

Or you could just start the thread on a specific sound/tip/trick and (if I don't notice it) PM me and I'll add it to the tutorial sticky. I'm fine with adding a category on "how to make sound X", it's just that there tend to be more questions than definitive answers in that regard.

I personally wouldn't mind contributing to the thread. I also would read it too.

i find it a good idea, but this things are better covered with a video actually, explaining this kind of things with words and with different daws and vsts... explaining how to make a kick loop could take you 10 lines when on a video it's about 10 seconds.

Me three. I think it's a good idea and I would both read and contribute but your idea would need this forum to be flash/youtube enabled *hint hint diginut*

Yip i'll also contribute on both accounts.
