I'm trying to piece together a classic rock CD... and I don't want a bunch of the same old - I have all that stuff. I want some really great forgotten classics, or songs that are badass by known people but don't get any love for some reason. Here's what I got so far:
Donovan- Season of the Witch
Ten Years After- I'd Love to Change the World
The Monkees- I'm not Your Steppin' Stone
Animals- Don't Let Me Be Misunderstood
Peter Frampton- Do You Feel Like I Do (live)
Lovin' Spoonful- Summer in the City
Rolling Stones- Almost Hear you Sigh
Al Stewart- Year of the Cat
Simon and Garfunkle- America
Tommy James and the Shondells- Crimson and Clover
The Who- Join Together
Velvet Underground and Nico- Heroin
Bill Withers- Use Me
The Box Tops- The Letter
Three Dog Night- Easy to be Hard
Suggestions please :) (first person to say Stairway to Heaven gets stabbed).
Joss Weatherby
Sweet Home Alabama?

Sorry, always considered rock to be metal’s really ugly cousin.

I've always thought this was Pink Floyd's absolute best song:
Yet nobody else seems to hold it as such. Not that it's ignored or forgotten, maybe the length of it just puts people off, but nothing else they've done encapsulates the band so damned well, at least to me. Also helps that it wasn't just Waters at all - every one of them contributed to the lyrics and writing.

I'm a big fan of that song too. Used to space out to that before bed my freshman year of college. :p

Haha pretty much, apart from some prog stuff and post punk.
