Does anyone here have a friend that works at a Verizon store?

My current cell phone contract is up, I start a new job next Monday in Manhattan, and my current phone sucks. It's basically on life support and I need a working phone soon.
I'm planning on buying an HTC Droid Incredible for Verizon, but the problem is that nobody has this phone in stock right now. Nobody.
I don't want to order the phone online or through an employee at a Verizon store, because they charge your credit card for $300+ before you get the phone, and none of the employees have any idea when it will actually be delivered to you.
And from reading online, it sounds like this phone won't be easily-available on store shelves until mid-June, which is way too late for me.
So does anyone here know a Verizon employee, or someone who has a friend that works at a Verizon store that could set one aside for me when they get a rare shipment in and I'll drive anywhere to pick it up?
Or even a phone number of the Verizon store that they work at...
Thanks :) |

You can just get another phone till then. You have 30 days to return a phone if you don't like it. By the time you return it they should have plenty of Incredible's in stock. I did that a few times when the Storm first came out and now the Droid Eris. I used a regular blackberry for both situations till the phones were in stock.
Hopefully the Incredible is a lot better than the Eris. I'm ready to throw the phone at a wall because that's how much I hate it. We only had to wait half a year for an update and it still didn't solve many of the problems....
You should let people use the phone for a couple months before getting it to see what they think.
Really hoping Verizon makes the right move by getting the Iphone soon. :sadgreen: |

| Switch to Sprint and get the HTC Evo 4G coming out June 4th. I believe it's $199 after the mail-in rebate and 2 year contract. |

The HTC EVO 4G blows away the HTC Incredible. EVO is 4G, Incredible is 3G. The EVO also functions as a WiFi hotspot for up to 8 devices. |

4G costs an extra $9.99 a month and the Wi-Fi feature costs an additional $29.99 a month. So that's $40 extra dollars on top of whatever smartphone contract you're on, which are overpriced to begin with.
Also I'm on a Verizon family plan so financially it would be much better for me to stay with them. |

| I think Sprint might have some different plans then us on Verizon. Our prices are completely crazy for what they offer. Yes we have GREAT service but $30 for data plan?? I would not be surprised if Sprint does amazing with the new 4g. Try to see what they offer plans wise. And I'm sure many of you know this but with cell phone bills, most company that people work for give you a 20% discount on your monthly bill. I have done this the past 5 years and it helps out. Cuts about $20-25 on my bill every month. :whip: |
